Frequently Asked Questions:
We support a wide range of test phones – the list is just too long to display here. But anything with a Qualcomm or Samsung chipset with an accessible DM port will be fine. We also support Mediatek devices. We usually recommend using the latest Samsung GS model phones.
No, you do not need to root your phone. You can use commercial, off-the-shelf phones for your tests. The phones will need to have the DM port enabled, but this is typically easy to do and the process is available.
We support the PCTel product line including the IBFlex, HBFlex, MXFlex, EXFlex. We also support the R&S scanner as well as the older Agilent/JDSU W1314A scanners.
Yes, the .dml log file from LML can be imported into Windcatcher in its native format. For iBWave, there is an export feature from LMA and DASView that will generate the proper format so that you can import back into your iBWave project.
Link Master will support Qualcomm, Samsung, Mediatek, GCT, Altair, Intel. 5G support is available for Qualcomm, Samsung, and Mediatek.
Yes, we do support the iPhone integration with both the Qualcomm chipsets and Intel chipsets. It requires that you have the “Carrier Build” software enabled on your iPhone.
Any modern Windows laptop with an i7 processor and solid state drive will be fine. We suggest Windows 11, a minimum of 16GB of RAM and sufficient hard drive space to store your files. We use the Microsoft Surface Pro tablet since it is lightweight and easy to use. We also have many customers using the Dell XPS15 laptop. When processing 5G log files we suggest using a computer with 32GB of memory.
Link Master Logging was designed with robustness and software stability at its core. When a device becomes unexpectedly unplugged during a test, Link Master will not crash; it will simply alert you to the problem with both an audible alarm and a visual notification. All of the other phones under test will continue without interruption. You can then simply replug in the disconnected phone and the software will recognize the phone and continue with the test.
You do not need to worry about losing hours worth of data simply because the phone became disconnected.
Yes, you can easily rent the software by the day for small projects. Alternatively we offer monthly and yearly leases as well as perpetual licenses.
